The last few day’s climbing has been focused on seeking out shade – how crazy is that, in late October in the Pyrenees? Alliat is a stupendous crag with some really impressive stamina fests up to 40m long – See the tall brown wall in the picture below. Le Carol isn’t quite such great climbing but sits on the crest of a hill and is shaded by trees, giving pleasant dappled sun. The routes have a very “Peak limestone” feel and I even managed some jamming rash on a fierce fist crack 😦 Pereille provided a pleasant end-of-the-day warm down in an idyllic setting. |
