From Horseshoe Canyon Ranch to the next significant climbing area in New Mexico is about 850 miles and about 15 hours driving at RV pace. Happily the route runs along Route 66 so there are a few sights and stops to break the journey.

From Tulsa through Oklahoma City and Amarillo to Albuquerque, New Mexico, there are also plenty of songs to sing along to on the way….

Meanwhile we’ve been feeling very left out of the Halloween season – every tent and RV at every campground we’ve visited over the last 4 weeks has been festooned with pumpkins, orange ribbons and fairy lights. We’ve finally got around to joining the fun. Meet Perry – our new travelling companion. He also makes an excellent curry along with spinach and sweet potato!
