Tucked away in the south west corner of Arizona are a few hundred square miles of desert protected as the Organ Pipe Cactus National Monument. Not surprisingly, it’s chock full of Organ Pipe Cacti – which are the ones that look like upside down green spiky octupi…

Not the ones you get in RoadRunner and Wylye Coyote cartoons, which are Saguaros

Having said that, it’s the Saguaros that steal the show – they’re  just so people-like  (in fact the native Americans who traditionally live here use the same word for Saguaro as for person).
