Troy Quarry

I caught up with Hamish for a short afternoon hit after a morning of torrential rain. Handy location, fast drying and surprisingly scenic

– it’s well worth a visit as an alternative to the usual Lancashire options of Wilton, Anglezarke etc. By a happy coincidence, we also bumped into Ted and Christine, making for an impromptu Rucksack Club meet. Great to catch up!

Half a dozen routes in all, perhaps the highlight being Grane Wall with its comedy “wobbly block” (securely keyed I think, but gives you quite a shock if you aren’t expecting it!)

Must come back for the classic routes right of the Tower – they were occupied on this occasion…
