A really interesting crag near Avignon- Venasque has a “gritty” feel to it; rounded steep rock with a lot of attention to feet and friction as well as open-handed moves. The big difference of course is it is bolted limestone!
Sector Quinan is north facing, so gets little sun – not a problem as the South of France is enjoying something of a heat-wave. However it is clearly “early season” for the crag and holds feel dusty and damp. Excuses, excuses, as I fail on a couple of 7as. One of which had a very gnarly mono 😦
Great climbing though, and one to come back for.
