The third major crag near Osp is Crni Kal – a different proposition from either the Osp village crags or Misja Pec, it stretches for a couple of km along the skyline escarpment. The climbing is mostly near vertical and the rock varies from hideously polished at the left hand side to sharp and a little snappy at the right.

We have had enough of polish so took our chances with snappy and had a great day on sector Ob Progi. 30m routes with good bolting and a sunny outlook to the coast at Koper. For once on this trip we didn’t feel like the worst climbers on the crag – it’s been a chastening experience in terms of stiffness of grades and strength of other climbers!
