The roadside crags in Queens Creek provide convenient, if noisy climbing, but for a real away from it all experience, the nearby Devil’s Canyon is a much more exciting option. The Rough dirt road is strictly high clearance 4wd territory, and certainly not fit for a 25ft RV, but a 45 min walk was well worth the effort. ..
The iconic formation here is the Totem Pole, and we’d been recommended to climb it before it falls down!
About 120ft high and only 15ft across, it really is a landmark! Great climbing too, and a truly unusual 5ft square summit to enjoy.
