Equally cute – perhaps even more so, is the village of Gorbio. This is actually signposted off the A8 autoroute as a Village Perche, and indeed it does occupy an impressively perched position looking out over the Med.

This is only about 10 miles from the campsite, but you guessed it, there are quite a lot of zigzags involved. This time about an hours worth! Aaaaargh! In fairness, it is a very pretty drive with stunning views over the sea and the Cote d’Azure, but quite a workout.

The crags themselves get a big write up, but we were only moderately smitten. We may have been spoiled.
