Another gorgeous day, and another gorgeous crag. Tucked away in a secluded valley running parallel to the main CL626, this kilometre-long crag has a couple of hundred routes that barely scratch the surface in terms of how much more rock there is to go at.

We started on a short slabby wall at Ponte en Forma Cachalote, thinking the collection of 8m 6a+’s would be ideal warm ups. The rock is immaculate, but contains almost no holds! Everything is the wrong way up and we were somewhat chastened!

Following the mantra that longer routes tend to suit us better, we wandered a bit further along to sector Arabe and did the eponymous route, which was good but tough, and a 40m 6c Invierno Calico – very British in style up a long flake crack system, and the occasional bush.

Taking the back road home to our camp site, we discovered more sumptuous scenery, and stumbled across another local beauty spot – a tight side gorge with an impressive waterfall.
