Hobson Moor

The ‘official’ climbing season got underway with the first Wednesday evening meet of the year, at Hobby by tradition. Despite the spring weather earlier in the month, it was all looking a bit green, and the biting wind wasn’t helping. Nonetheless, Hobby was rammed as we’d managed to double book the place with a Karabiner Club meet – the dozen or so Rucksackers were outnumbered by the KC, but I suspect we clocked up more E points ; -)

The wind dropped and the sun even managed an ‘int’ or two, so climbing continued until after sundown.

Then a real surprise bonus – Granville arrived along with his mobile soup kitchen complete with homemade bread and shortcake! What a star! Sets the standard for future meets…

  1. Good to see Bill Deakin & Ces Rhodes are still alive & kicking. Greeting from Sean, still climbing & now resident in sunny Devon.
