The good weather luck finally ran out (we must have used it all up at Gogarth) and my Rucksack Club evening meet at Stoney was beset with showers. After half an hour in the car watching the rain we seized a brief window to grab a couple of routes.
However, quality made up for quantity as Helen managed to lead Cream Snatcher 6b on damp rock, just before the next downpour – good effort!
By now a big team had arrived and I moved into socialising and photographer mode (giving the dodgy ankle a break)
There were more climbers than routes (18 in all). The next downpour saw the team split with an advanced party heading for The Moon whilst the diehards sat it out and managed to get another couple of routes in. Good effort!
