Bypassing the Sierra de Prades, we sheltered on the coast near Barcelona (lulled to sleep by crashing waves again – not quite the Atlantic but much choppier than the usual Med.) 

With high level crags covered in 6″ of fresh snow, we settled on Gelida as a 4* crag nearer the coast. 

The forecasted sunny spells were fewer and further between than hoped for, and the crag looked decidedly damp… 

We managed to sketch our way up the cliff, piecing together bits of a couple of routes that weren’t too wet. 

Definitely a case for a one – route day, but the crag would be worth another look in the dry
