Got lucky again with the weather – REALLY lucky this time! After a shocking winter and early spring, and the washout of the first two Rucksack Club Wednesday evening meets, my planned session at Hobby coincided with the first day of the summer (and a record breaking temperature for April).
Brilliant, because I’d also invited members of the Manchester University Mountaineering Club to come along. We warmed up on some of the familiar favourites…
and then I held Andy’s ropes on Drizzle (tough in the clammy heat)
… before getting completely shut down on Dragon Route (this bolt clipping does nothing for your trad head!)
By now the Quarry was full to bursting
… with around 30 Rucksackers and guests plus another ten from MUMC. Brilliant evening!
