Independence Quarry

Another contribution to Clwyd limestone by the irrepressible Gary Gibson, Independence Quarry sits at the east end of the escarpment above Trevor, with views over Llangollen.

A hazy mist threatened to ruin the forecasted blue skies, but this soon burned off.

… leaving a toasty afternoon in this natural suntrap.

The rock quality is a bit varied, especially going through the band of rubble that slashes through the length of the crag, but the bolting is sound and you can’t really complain if you can be climbing with your shirt off in mid November!
