The other crag on Mt Taygetus is Nedousa, in fact it’s a whole bunch of crags set around this tiny village.
We only sampled the roadside sector Tzerani which features a high tower of unusual red rock – split by a couple of major crack and corner features but really compact at a micro level which makes for crimpy then pumpy climbing.
We did two excellent 6b+s: Ayermos (tough slab then finishing up a steep lay back flake crack) and Myeras (easier start into a big corner where bridging leads to a fiendishly tricky move to the chain).
Here’s Helen on Myeras…
… And a couple of other climbers lower down on the same route:
Once you are done with Tzerani there’s plenty more to go at including the usual selection of wild tufa, wavey overhangs and sharp slabs, plus the imaginatively named Huge Red Wall!
