At the risk of sounding like a stuck record, this was another chilly, windy day. Time to put the East Woodburn plan into operation – a south facing crag, 5 minutes from the road and with about 30 routes across a mix of grades up to E2. Just the job!
It’s another pretty crag in another stunning spot of moorland countryside. We managed half a dozen routes before the chill finally got to us. Here’s Helen on The Arête, HS 4b on fantastic juggy holds

Probably the route of the day (and of the crag) is Woodburn Wall, E1 5b which takes the overhanging left wall of the West Buttress (seen in silhouette on the left of the picture below) via a tough layback followed by a series of juggy breaks to a teetery top out on the right.
