Two sides of The Peak

A couple of days climbing locally demonstrated the diversity of experience available in The Peak District.

Day one was a quest for another Extreme Rock tick for Jake – Adjudicator Wall in Dovedale. Chilly day couldn’t detract from the loveliness of the dale. It also served as a great reminder of how tough a route this is – desperate! I must have been going well when I led it about 25 years ago!

The following day was a complete contrast – glorious sunshine high on the moorland glory of Stanage. Too hot for any major exertions so a pleasant afternoon of VS/HVS on Cosmic Buttress – here’s Helen on the eponymous route.
