Mike Doc’s meet set down a strong claim for this year’s “longest distance travelled for a meet” award, with Martin, Barbara, Jack and Sam over from Missouri for the occasion.
Much time was spent catching up and reminiscing, which was just as well as The Knarr seems to be suffering from neglect at the moment, with few routes in anything like pristine condition. Nonetheless, The Arête got a couple of ascents (doesn’t get any easier, but remains an outstanding route)
and Andy braved the potential enormous plummet off Sinn Fein
… But ascent of the evening was Old Triangle and Martin’s trip down memory lane and Jack’s first taste of British climbing.
Then off to The Bull in time for a creditable 3rd place in the keenly contested pub quiz!
