Adios Chulilla

Our last couple of days in Chulilla were a repeat of the first two, with one spent on the Pared De Enfrente and a second at Oasis. Plenty of people out and about again, and a fairly stiff breeze.

Monday’s highlight was a very kind offer by Pedro, the rifugio owner, to let Jake have a go at the first ascent of a route he’d bolted but not got around to finishing. Sadly Jake found it a little crumbly for his liking, so had to satisfy himself with a couple of 7bs instead.

Tuesday was a short day ahead of a 2.5 hour drive to Alicante airport for a late flight, so we headed to Oasis, and bumped into a large Sheffield team. After exchanging banter with Steve McClure we managed a couple of routes including Jake’s very fine onsight of a 50m 7c+ taking an impressive line up a pair of parallel tufas.

…A fab end to a fab trip!
