The forecast had Thursday down as a complete write off, but it dawned dry with even the odd bit of blue. Lovely views across Loch Fleet, past a couple of sunbathing seals, across to Creag Bheag (more of that later…)
We decided to take a look at Creag Mhor – not in the guidebook (too recently developed) but the same team has put the routes up and there’s a topo at http://www.7amax.com
It might not look much, but it’s a 200ft high crag with about half a dozen 2-pitch routes, all on slabby well-bolted conglomerate.
Classic of the crag is Double Jointed a 3* 5+
and we also did Bushy Craic 6a+ with a tougher move over the lower bulge
Great views from the top
We decided to quit whilst the going was good rather than risk the approaching black clouds, but then it cheered up a bit so we went to recce Creag Bheag.
Quite a decent looking crag. We’d just geared up beneath the route of the crag when the heavens opened…
We found a rather pathetic overhang to shelter under…
Then made a run for it.
